IVAN BELLAROSA AND THE WOLF GB08 WON THE EUROSPORT PROTOTYPES SERIES AT FRANCIACORTA
18/10/2010 – Another success was harvested by Ivan Bellarosa and the Wolf GB08 in the Eurosport Prototypes Series last weekend at Franciacorta’s circuit. The format of the event included two qualifying sessions and two races on the length of sixty minutes, with the final classification obtained as the sum of the points awarded, including those for the pole and the fastest lap of the race. Regulations allowed entries from single drivers as well as from crews made up by two drivers. Ivan Bellarosa was in evidence starting from qualifying, when he set the fastest laptime of both sessions. In race one, the new Italian Champion kept the lead of the race since the beginning, but a problem with a tyre forced him to an early retirement when fifteen minutes were left to the flag. He set the fastest lap of the race anyway. The outcome of the race was positive for team Avelon Formula anyway as the victory went to Alberto Bassi and the second place to Guglielmo Belotti, both driving a Wolf GB08. Race two, held on wet tarmac, was dominated by Bellarosa from lights to flag and the driver for Avelon Formula proceeded at the finish line the crew Armetta-Malucelli (Ligier) and Visconti-Vinella (Wolf). He also set the fastest lap of the race. With two pole positions, a victory and two fastest lap of the race, Bellarosa managed to get on the podium as winner of the event in a weekend that enriched the impressive cv of the debut year of the Wolf GB08. Ivan Bellarosa: "After the success in the Italian Prototypes Championship, the Wolf GB08 is imposing itself at an International level as the most advanced and competitive prototype car. The organization of this event has been of first class and all the premises are there for starting a very interesting European Series".
