CHASSIS
The heart of the car, this fundamental component is born as an innovative element for cars of this category. The objectives of torsion and flexion strengths had to be conjugated to the safety requisites and a weight target that was definitely low.

To achieve this, composite material analysts operated compromise-less choices: the only way was to work on the shape of the chassis from one side and to push the envelope in terms of optimization of the layup of the several carbon layers, of their shape and orientation, all of this in function of the most extreme usage conditions.

The experience in aerospace and the tight collaboration with the highest level providers allowed the achievement of the prefixed targets.
AERODYNAMICS
In this case, requests in terms of down-force, weight distribution and aerodynamics penetration put project managers in front of a great challenge.

Once again, numeric simulation, as is customary in the highest level categories, has been fundamental to experiment afterwards, while driving the car, the benefits of some choices or the exclusion of others.

The most critical point has certainly been the hunt for a high frontend aerodynamic weight which has been obtained with the design of a high nose and with the study of the fluxes around the front splitter. All of this has been done trying to limit, as much as possible, the increase in drag forces, that are the forces that oppose to the advancement of the car, while keeping anyway within the limits imposed by regulations.
SUSPENSIONS
Considering the rapid evolution of cars of this category, we adopted since the beginning of the project, aside a traditional scheme for rear suspensions, a front suspension architecture allowing two different schemes: overlapping beams with push-rod and single central absorber or, alternatively, an innovative scheme with triple absorber as further development theme.

The mechanism of suspensions and its dynamics have been studied by means of the multi-body simulation by introducing flexibility of components as well as the detailed definition of elastic and dimming elements.
