Bellarosa and Latif get an historic 30th victory for Wolf GB08
22/04/2013 – The second round of the VdeV Proto Endurance Series 2013 held at Mugello, awarded yesterday the 30th victory to Wolf GB08, the CN2 car that did not have rivals in the last few years both at a National and International level.
The lineup Bellarosa-Latif of the works team Avelon Formula obtained the eighth place in qualifying and produced a spectacular recovery in the race that resulted in the leadership three hours into the race. Their advantage kept progressively growing and reached a two laps margin to Accary-Delafosse-Bossy (Norma) and five to Cavailhes-Capillaire-Douget (Norma).
The sting in the tail came with just one lap to go when a front tyre blowout forced Bellarosa to an unscheduled pit stop; the margin accumulated was big enough to secure the victory though which was sealed a lap afterwards by the chequered flag.
The fourth place went to Illiano-Ferte, at -6 laps of the first Tatuus, while Belotti-Plaisance-Mastroberardino and Bassora-Jarno-Burrick ended respectively in twelfth and thirteenth place with the other two Wolf.
“The ban from running in qualifying and in the first stint imposed to category ‘A’ drivers is certainly a big handicap to my lineup and me, but we managed anyway to get a win that has a special taste. The Wolf GB08 has been a winning car since its debut and thirty wins are a great achievement that make it one of the most winning CN2 cars ever as well as the current car to be beaten”.
The VdeV Proto Endurance Series will be back on track next 1 June in Le Castellet (F).
