Pole Position, victory and fastest lap for the Wolf GB08 in the first round of the 3 Hours Endurance Champions Cup

05/04/2016 – The teams lining up the Wolf GB08 at the circuit of Imola – first round of the 3 Hours Endurance Champions Cup by Peroni Race Group, had a great weekend. Luca Pirri and Giorgio Vinella opened the season taking a stunning victory for the newly born team LP Racing, while Davide Amaduzzi posted the fastest lap of the race on his #11 Wolf GB08lined up by Team Emotion.

The appointment at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit has been a great debut for LP Racing that started on a high since qualifying, as Luca Pirri put his #88 Wolf GB08 in pole position(1’45.405). LP Racing run a dominant race, leaving the lead only for a few laps after the start and during the pit stops phase. Pirri and Vinella installed themselves on top at lap 37 and did lot leave it since. Such a great performance allowed them to pull away from Ghezzi-Cerati-Romani (Porsche 997 GT3R), that ended second and from Rinaldi-Biffis, third on Tatuus PY012.

Davide Amaduzzi was hit by bad luck as he and co-equipers Mirko Zanardini and Edo Varini started from the front row, but a technical issue slowed them down but did not prevent them to show their speed as highlighted by the fastest lap of the race they set. The fourth place at the flag was obtained by the second car fielded by Emotion for Gianmarco Gamberini, Mauro Deodati and Francesco Malavasi.

Luca Pirri (LP Racing Team Principal and driver):
“We are happy on the outcome of this first weekend of the season. It awarded a winter of hard work to prepare the car and to get ready to be protagonists since the beginning. We still have room for improvement and we will work hard to be quicker and quicker”.

Giorgio Vinella (LP Racing driver):
“It has been a virtually perfect race. It all worked like a charm and I am happy on having got back on track after nearly a year and a half long break. The car proved to be reliable and I believe I gave my contribution to this important result. This victory gives us further thrust and motivation to give our best in the remainder of the season”.
