The Wolf GB08 wins the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2019
01.07.2019 – A victory destined to become part of the history of Wolf Racing Cars. This is the result achieved by Robin Shute on his Wolf GB08 at the 2019 edition of the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the most famous hill-climb race in the world that was run last weekend.
The British driver was at his third presence in the classic hill-climb race in Colorado and posted the quickest time on the Wolf GB08 pushed by a Honda 2.1 litres engine capable of 650 bhp in 9’12.476s. This prototype proved to be particularly at ease on the 12.42 miles that take drivers from the start line at 2862 meters of altitude up to more than 4300 meters.
Shute was the quickest of the drivers completing the whole test before the bad weather conditions forced Race Direction to shorten the stage. This does not take anything off this superb performance that allowed Wolf Racing Cars to add its name to one of the most prestigious Hall of Fames in the world.
Giovanni Bellarosa (Wolf Racing Cars, General Manager):
“The whole Wolf Racing Cars factory wishes to congratulate Robin Shute for this incredible result. The victory of the Pikes Peak increases the list of wins of our Wolf GB08 further and makes our car one of the few sports prototypes capable of being successful in a lot of different disciplines and on different types of tracks. We are proud of this and wish to thank Robin Shute for this win that gives us further motivation to keep up the design and development work of successful racing cars”.
